The ancient town of Huzhou, located south of the Yangtze River, is known for its unique humanistic elements. These elements, representative of the local culture, have been intricately woven into the Xiangxin Fenghuaqijing project by the Eh Design Group. The result is a luxurious space that showcases the region's rich culture, built up over thousands of years, through numerous exquisite and elegant examples.
The project stands out due to its unique properties. The base color of the marble floor is dark grey, with white veins resembling ripples on the water’s surface. Vertical grilles add to the uniqueness of the space, while shimmering lights on the reception desk mimic the lights of distant fishing boats seen at night bobbing in the wind. The overall space is decorated in an orderly fashion, with restrained colors and rational textures stretching upwards unified in their light warm tones, creating a soothing, comfortable, and reserved atmosphere.
The realization of the design was achieved through the use of creamy white marble, which creates an unusual calm atmosphere. The flowing curves of the design recall previous eras, while fleeting light and shadow are captured by the creamy white marble and wood colored grilles. Above the ripples in the basin, there is a huge, spacious installation. The installation measures 2000mm in width, 2000mm in depth, and 8500mm in height.
The design was inspired by the ancient town of Huzhou, which boasts a history of more than 2,300 years. The designers faced the challenge of designing a unique and elegant space that described the rich and vivid beauty of the south of the Yangtze River in exquisite and profound terms. The result is a space that is as endless as the flowing river of time, where the story of the orient with its rich cultural deposits has become eternal.
The project started in June 2020 in Huzhou and finished in January 2021. The design team, led by Hui Ma and Xinyong Tan, captured the touching fragments and moments from the flow of time, and confirmed them in a game of light, shadow, and matter. The old-style brass private space shines with the luster of ancient times as it reflects the warm light. This design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation.
